Curve was born with no wings but had a dream to be able to fly high in the sky, just like the other birds. On a hot summer day, he saw a passing human drop something that looked like a feather. Once the person was away, Curve hopped down the branches of the tree to pick the object up. He brought it back to his mother, who told him it was a quill, which was something humans used to write with.
The quill looked like a wing. Maybe it would help Curve fly! So with that, Curve hopped down to a branch where sap was oozing down the tree. He carefully dipped his shoulder into the sap, then put the quill onto his shoulder with his beak. He moved his shoulder up and down, and the quill moved along with it! Bustling with excitement, he leaped off the branch. Only to land with a thud in the dirt below.
"I'll never fly!" He wailed. "Even wings won't help me!"
"That's not true," said Curve's mother, landing gracefully on the ground beside him. "You only had one quill. You can't fly with one wing!"
Curve sighed at his youth. Of course, he couldn't fly with one wing! He was just too excited and hopeful to think about it. Curve knew that he would have to follow his ordinary life until something extraordinary happened. Like finding the other wing he would always dream of finding.

Hello, my fabulous writers! As many of you probably have figured out already, Curve is our logo. He is a symbol of hope, courage, and creativity, which are the three basic requirements of being an author, especially in creative writing. Hope might be a tiny word, but it is stronger than any hurricane in the world. Tell yourself that there would always be light, even in the plunging darkness that seems to swallow you up. When you write, never think about the things that can go wrong. What if nobody reads my book? or I don't know if this is good. are common thoughts that attempt to cut off the hope you have. Remember, my amazing writers, never let go of hope. Such a tiny word will come a long way, and you'd be surprised by how much it will carry you through.
Courage is vital for a piece of writing that you don't even know how it would go. Have the courage to mess around with your story. Turn the characters into werewolves! Twist the plot until you don't even know what would come next! Have the courage to experiment with all the things you can come up with. Let your audience gasp at the impossible things becoming possible!
Lastly, creativity. There is creativity in all of us, young or old. Nothing is EVER too insane to put into your writing. Not even a human born with a lion's head, wings, cow hooves, and venomous snake fangs. Anyway, I think you get the point I'm trying to make. So what are you waiting for? Go out there and write, my writers! But before you do, remember to always have hope, courage, and use your creativity!
